A collocation-based spectral element method for computing nonlinear optical waveguide

主讲人介绍:王汉权,云南财经大学教授,中国数学会计算数学分会常务理事,云南省中青年学术带头人,云南省数学会常务理事,云南省工业与应用数学会副理事长,云南财经大学统计与数学学院博士生导师,四川大学数学学院博士生导师。2014年获“云南省有突出贡献优秀专业技术人才”称号,2017年获云南省自然科学奖三等奖。先后主持国家自然科学基金重大计划培育项目、面上项目、地区基金项目、青年基金项目、教育部归国留学人员启动基金项目各1项。在国内外学术期刊上发表高水平研究论文和教改论文50余篇,出版专著2部、教材2本。


内容介绍:Computation of nonlinear optical waveguide needs to solve a nonlinear eigenvalue problem mathematically. However, usually the refractive index profiles in the nonlinear optical waveguide are discontinuous, which makes solution of nonlinear eigenvalue problem not smooth enough.In this talk, we discuss how to use high-order collocation-based spectral element method to discretize such problem and propose an efficient and iterative algorithm for computing the resulting discretized system.Convergence analysis for the method is provided. The numerical accuracy of the method are tested by several one-dimensional and two-dimensional linear optical waveguide structures. Numerical results for some nonlinear optical waveguide are also presented.
